birthday blog

In the evening, a birthday toast. Kitty plotting to steal fresh clam leftovers.Earlier that day we stopped by my favorite smoothie place on St. Marks Place. They lure people in by giving yummy samples outside... It works on me every time.
Mosaic art on a street post near Astor Place.
A woman stopped as I was taking the photo and talked of the artist. She said it's a shame that the city comes by and paints silver over it.

Today started with birthday roses then coincidentally my debut as Fashionista of the week on Matteo Trisolini's blog. Fashionista #3.

Today starts something new.

Happenings at Snakemonkey
That evening I paid a visit to my friends at Snakemonkey. I modeled some new fall T's for a photo shoot, and posed for a hand drawn portrait by a young and promising, 9 year old, artist named Epi. Bib satchel featuring the work of another young and promising artist named Atticus.

Earlier that day...

A time for renewal and reflection.
Emotions hung heavy Downtown ranging from sorrow to anger this morning as the thick gray sky dumped a few hard down pours on this national day of mourning.

A protest calling for more investigations on 9/11 on Broadway after the morning's ceremonies.
It's busy in Majestic Pizzeria on Cortlandt St.; although lunch time is always busy at this long time establishment. Pat, the owner, said he used to deliver 40 pies a day to the Trade Center. After 9/11 he lost over half his business and just recently he lost a part of his lung. He is one of many first responders still physically affected by the attacks.
Ground Zero six years later.
